Women Who Code Delhi Mentorship Program 3.0- Week 2
2 min readFeb 20, 2021
After an insightful week 1 discussion, I was very excited for Week 2 of the Women Who Code Mentorship program. We had two calls this week with our mentor Jap Leen Kaur. The focus of Week 2 calls was internships and placements.
Key takeaways
- Try to apply with a referral: it’s advisable to get in touch with a person working at the company you’re applying to, for a referral.
- Never mention anything false on your resume. Only include projects that you have built. In case of ongoing projects always mention ongoing.
- Never self reject.
- Maintain good social media profiles (like LinkedIn, Github etc)
- Never hesitate from cold emailing.
- Tailor your resume according to the specific role you’re applying for.
- Check company-specific questions before appearing for interviews.
This week we were assigned the task of getting our resume reviewed by our mentor. I am honestly so thankful for her valuable inputs and her patience in explaining and helping me throughout the whole week :p
Week 2 has been amazing and full of knowledge. We are given two tasks for the upcoming week
- Scheduling a mock interview
- Fixing on a particular number of questions to be solved every day
Looking forward to week 3 !!
